OK, who makes the best Carne Asada burrito in San Diego?

Hey PadFan,

My favorite used to be the old Roberto’s on Washington Street at Fifth Avenue. It’s now a Los Ponchos. My second was the Old Roberto’s on El Cajon Blvd, Near Little Caesars/Chicken Pie shop in North Park. It’s now Royberto’s but the food seems to be the same

2000 s-10 chevy, the ac blows cold for less than a minute, then blows luke warm to hot, what could be wrong?

Favorite Answer:

Hey 78,

My best educated guess is that the last time freon was filled, the system was not evacuated completely. If you have had freon in system less than 2 seasons, have your mechanic (or you , if you have the knowledge) capture your freon, then FULLY EVACUATE the system (this is done with either a second capture canister, or can be done with reverse compressor).

Re-fill with your old freon. Your mechanic may be able to test your freon for stability, it’s possible that it is contaminated.

Second guess, possible gauge malfunction. You will find this out when you evacuate the system. You can try the old standard, tap it a few times…. But since you will be evacuating the freon anyway, this is a no-charge check.

Lastly, Check out your tension on the belt to your compressor. It is possible that condenser is not making proper contact, so when you first turn on your A/C the bit of freon near the mouth of compressor cools the air, but if freon doesn’t move through compressor, it will never fully cool system. (You will probably see ice form near the freon inlet on your compressor).

Good luck…. Stay cool!

Anyone know the process of re-opening a case?

Favorite Answer:

Hello Poet,

I am assuming that the District Attorney has decided not to pursue this case and that there are no known possible suspects … (You say “verdict”, but I am assuming that there was no trial. If this is not the case, please send me an e-mail).

The usual ways to re-open a case like this is to:

a). Find evidence that was not considered in the original investigation. The evidence should be “without prejudice”, meaning that it “should” not be used to paint a picture customized to your liking (e.g. Shell location, unless you hire an ammunition expert that will testify that a certain gun and a certain ammo will behave in such a way XX% of the time…) and that the evidence should be timely and relevant ( A diary entry 2 weeks before the death that says “… Joe threatened to blow my head off again today if I didn’t pay him for the crank!”, as opposed to an entry from 10 years ago that says “Joe is gonna kill me if he ever finds out I kissed Mike!”). Lack of new evidence, means that your only recourse is to look at the old evidence.

b). Looking at the old evidence. You say no Gun Shot Residue test was done, do you know if there was evidence that showed burns against the skin or clothes? (Many times a detective will not perform test if they know that a burn pattern ALWAYS will show evidence of a gun position). Was the deceased a long time heroine user (Tolerance; You may be passed out at .020 mgs but a long time user may be functional at .85 or higher…. If someone was trying to kill the deceased, USUALLY at 1.5 or higher they will go into coma and never wake up (Emphasis is on usually)). If you and other witnesses know that deceased was not a long term drug user AND they had no access to guns OR Just got engaged AND … (Fill in the blank with other theory’s) then you have enough evidence to contact the District Attorney.

District Attorney: Their job is to seek justice, Period! Many will argue a case into the ground because of their own personal spin or their ego. The D.A. is also relying on your County Coroner to provide his/her expertise on the matter. Is your coroner also your local Funeral Undertaker? If so, you may have to ask the state board of your state to request a Coroners Inquest. (Be forewarned, the C.I. usually is headed by your local coroner). Ask to meet with the D.A. and present your case in a clear and concise manner. If the D.A. refuses to hear your version of what may have happened, you have three clear options:

1). Contact your State Attorney General, ask to present your evidence and see if they can help in your pursuit.

2). Go to court and sue. You can present your evidence in front of a judge and he or she will decide if there is enough evidence to warrant a re-opening of the case.

3). If there is a chance that the deceased was discriminated against ( Gay, Minority, 3xfelon, won a discrimination case against the town, etc.) then you may have a case for Federal jurisdiction. This is a little harder, you have to prove to the Federal Prosecutor that the decedents civil rights were abused. If you know that this is the case, then contact the United States Attorney in your city/state.

None of these options will be quick. Many of these options may require you to shell out some money for tests or private investigators. In any case, If you believe that nothing could be further from the truth than what the police/coroner and the D.A. have concluded, then you are the jury and need to pursue any and all remedies available to you.

Good luck, and sorrow for your loss.

has anyone else heard about the george w and laura bush sex tape???

Favorite Answer:

Hey K.M.,

Yup, I’ve seen it! It isn’t your Tommy Lee/Pam Anderson type of sex tape…It’s a little bit different…

Starts out with Mrs. B bending over the desk in the oval office. Pres says “Hey Pumpkin, wanna play TX rodeo tonight?” She tells him to meet her upstairs in the residence in 1/2 hour. She then goes and hides in the basement.

1/2 hour passes, Pres goes upstairs and puts in a tape where he describes the “Weapons of Mass Destruction”, followed by a tape of Veep presiding over Board meeting at Haliburton. Pres gets turned on by all the excess of power and 3 minutes later, rubs one off for the history books!

Lucky for him… Carl Rove was there with towel to CLEAN UP HIS MESSES!!!

God, this stuff is worth a million bucks…

At least he keeps us bewildered!

If you put Southern Comfort in the freezer will it freeze?

Favorite Answer:

Hey Chris,

Any alcohol that is 60 proof (35% alcohol content) or greater, will not freeze. Don’t try this with wine, beer, coolers or mixes and if unsure, don’t freeze glass, plastic won’t shatter. Like one of your other fans, I also freeze a lot of my hard liquor (this way I don’t dilute it with too much ice… especially with it being so hot this month!).

Frrreeeze away!

Whats a good type of Champagne?

Favorite Answer:

Hey XXHOHO,

I have several nice Champagne’s here at the house. I have 2 bottles of Dom, A Bottle of Domain Chandon and 1 Bottle of Moet Chandon White Star. I have not had a celebration nice enough to break out these bottles, so they sit in my wine cabinet for a dismal day when I get bored and want to celebrate my boredom.

I have started enjoying three different variations of Champagne Methodoise (made in the style of French Champagne).

1), Prosecco – Gentle Bubbles, light and airy – Italian Sparkling

2). Vouvray – Natural French sparkling wine – not as dry as most Meth. Champ.

3). Thorton Wineries (Temecula, California) – Brut. Small, natural bubbles. Crisp yet light taste.

The first 2 are favorites because they are light and airy and you feel that you can drink them with anything. The 3rd one, because I live in San Diego and it’s usually less than $15.00 per bottle.

Also, retail the top two sell for under $30.00 each. You can get them for a better price and a wine specialty shop.

Hope they tickle your nose!

James

P.S. I notice that Fadi states that you should always get the oldest. Remeber, with wine it goes by color;

White – Keep it young, under 3 years.

Pink – Date a Kid – No more than 5 years.

Red – This is the Oldster in the group. Best when between 5 and 10 years, the darker Burgandys at the long end and the lighter like Merlot at the younger end.

Remember, Wine does not achieve anything once it is bottled. All of the aging and flavoring takes place in the barrels. So if you stumble onto a bottle of 1947 Beaugaulais, it’s probably about the same condition as that box of Peter Vella Red Table wine!

Champagne is never aged, and is rarely stored for any lenght of time in barrels. Once it is bottled, it is put into riddling racks to let the sediments gather at the top of the bottle. Take a champagne wine tour sometime! I found it the best hour I ever spent around wine!
