Remembering James
He taught us strength, not by force, but through his incredible example. His quiet determination, unwavering support, and steady hand spoke volumes, even in silence.
James’s love was as constant and dependable as the sunrise each morning. Whether he was fixing things around the house or sharing a knowing glance at the dinner table, James made us feel safe, seen, and loved. He was the one we turned to when things went wrong and the first we wanted to share good news with.
Though he may no longer be physically with us, his presence remains in every story told, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness passed on. This tribute is just a small reflection of the incredible life he lived and the boundless love he gave. A true friend through and through, James may be gone, but he will always be with us—in memory, in spirit, and in heart.
Thank you for taking the time to remember and honor James.
Happy 63rd Birthday!
We miss you.
Happy 62nd Birthday!
We think of you always!
November 5th, 2011 – James’ Memorial
Ten years ago today, Redwing generously hosted a memorial for James. They provided a feast and it was a wonderful celebration of his life and the people he touched along the way. Thanks to everyone that was able to make it.
The first and last pictures are Artie sitting in James’ favorite spot at the bar. We love and miss you James!
10 Years…1 Decade
A bit of a warning…the following images are a bit graphic in nature and hard to look at. They show the toll that cancer takes on the body while James was fighting to survive each day. But these are the most recent pictures we have of him.
It’s October 22, 2011. Kabir’s birthday and just 3 days before the inevitable. He got to celebrate one last birthday with one of his best friends.
When we celebrated this year, we were thinking of you, James. We miss you!
2020…9 Years
Nine years ago we lost James. It’s unbelievable that it’s been that long. Seems like yesterday we were arguing about something stupid on the couch in our living room or playing scrabble or shopping or just hanging out. You are missed.
This is the year that I’d really have loved to see how James would have reacted to everything that’s happening. How would he have coped with Covid and Republicans’ behavior, especially Trump? I wish I knew.
Dobson’s is closed today and the Boat House, your second choice back in 2011, has permanently shuttered. We still remember you and think of you often. Always in our hearts and minds.
Happy Birthday James!
As the world is currently reeling from a pandemic, I can’t help but wonder how you would be reacting to all of this and most certainly you’d be helping make this more bearable with your humor and wit.
Happy Birthday!
